This is on the back of our gi's-- the symbol is Tamashi, which means Spirit -- we've got plenty of that!
Here are some pictures of the girls in action from a tournament back when they were brown belts.
Naomi performing her open hand kata -- seisan
Rebekah is about to begin her bo kata -- Ryu Ken
Hannah is introducing herself to the judges -- she's about to compete in open hand.
Tabitha is in the middle of her nunchucks competition

OK -- so sorry, we didn't get any action pictures at the tournament -- we were all too busy!!! We did get a lot of kicking action in at our first tournament as black belts. Rebekah and Naomi did indeed spar each other, with Naomi coming out on top, this time. It was a black belt fight so kicks count as two points -- and they're both kickers. It was close and came down to the final point. Hannah won in her division, too. The girls all brought home other trophies (and so did I) and we have to say that the black belt competition is a whole new level. This is a good thing and we'll be working hard the next several months to get ready for the 2009 season. Jerry didn't compete -- he's still healing from that broken wrist he got last May (at a tournament). He's been training right along with us and should be good to go next year. He did get to judge and judge and judge -- both katas and sparring -- I think he enjoyed it.
So, although we didn't get any action picutres, we did get this picture of the girls with Soshu David Koda -- the director of USYKA.
We've got a tournament coming up on October 11. If you are in the Albertville area and want to see the Mohr4 in action - literally kicking butt - then stop by. It will be at the Albertville Rec Center, starting around 10 am. Naomi and Rebekah will be sparring each other!! We'll post pictures of all the excitement, so check back!!!

Hey - you might or might not know that we are all black belts in karate - we've been training for just over 3 years and received our black belts this past July. We train in US Yoshukai at the Albertville dojo.
Here are a few pictures.
The above picture was taken at the end of the showmanship routine - Rebekah was the one that choreographed it. The girls are on either end of the front row, (Naomi, Rebekah, AllieMc, Hannah and Tabitha) if you look real hard you can see Michelle peeking out from the back row. Sorry, no Jerry - he was still nursing his broken wrist and elected to take pictures - so what you are enjoying is his view. Oh, btw - we won!!!!
This is a picture of Mohr4 entertaining at the BBQ Friday night before karate camp.
