This Sunday in Sunday School we are going to have a round table discussion on the opposite of 'love'.
Personally I doubt we will get much further than the definition of 'love',
one really must define something one wants to discus the opposite of, otherwise there is not a firm place to jump from. And I like to jump into something with both feet.
Oh, one more important thing to mention about the discussion, 'Hate' is off the table. This could get interesting.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And l be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This morning it was so humid that when the wind blew it knocked raindrops from the air.
And I'm not kidding either, the sun was shining on me, I wasn't under any trees and raindrops were definitely falling from the sky.

My first deer.
All ye hunters be jealous. I got the teeny-tiniest itty-bittiest deer in all the world (except maybe the keys).
But I dropped it in its tracks and I'm entirely too proud of myself.

My new favorite stump-everyone question:
is the gravity on the far side of the moon greater than, equal to, or less than the gravity on the near side?

ya know what? there's a reason why fog makes deer feel safer,
because it actually makes them safer.

12/31/08
no deer today, they all had heart attacks because the wind scared them.

I have been out hunting three times and we only saw one deer,
and we didn't get to shoot it because we didn't have enough light left.
well we're going to try another spot tomorrow first thing in the morning.

you know those pictures down at the bottom of the page?
A. I made myself a new cloak.
B. I still have the same bow.
C. A friend came up and is going to teach me how to deer hunt.
D. We do not have any deer trails around here, just deer highways.

I really ought to update this more often.
Anyway, I found out where that quote,
“A shout is more easily heard-
A whisper more easily heeded.”
comes from, or rather Jennifer told me.
It comes from one of the books she is writing, that she has let me read.

here is another quote.

"Once you accept the universe is expanding into something which is nothing, wearing stripes with plaid comes more easily."

I've got the 'expanding into something that is nothing' part, but not the 'wearing stripes with plaid' part.

I was reading fairy tales yesterday, and one of them was The Little Mermaid, and something dawned on me that I had never thought of before; the little mermaid had to give up her voice when she became human, and I think it’s because fish are mute, so when she gave up her fin she had to take on a different fish characteristic.

This is a quote that I just recently picked up, and have decided that it is a good one to live by, or at least try.

"We were not sent into this world to do anything into which we cannot put our hearts. We had certain work to do for our bread, and that is to be done strenuously; other work to do for our delight and that is to be done heartily, neither is it to be done by halves or shifts, but with a will; and what is not worth this effort is not to be done at all."
 John Ruskin.

This is a quote from somewhere, I’m not exactly sure where, but it's one that I try to keep in mind.

“A shout is more easily heard-
A whisper more easily heeded.”

Two days ago Hannah and I went for a hike, we saw a tree with a hollow that was filled with water, a couple of really small caves, climbed a different tree, walked up a dry creek bed, dipped our fingers in a pond and saw a dragon, or at least a tree branch that we could imagine was one. All in all the hike took nearly two hours and we had a ball!

We’re getting snow this morning! It’s classified as powdered sugar snow, by our classifications of course. And last night when we where at karate it was 65 degrees and now its 22 degrees.
there is frost on the windows and snow in the yard.
The snow is real powdery, not slushy in the least, so that means that it is cold and dry outside.
All the cats got snowed on.

Last night on the way home, the moon was out and it looked remarkably like the Cheshire-cat’s grin. And I said so, Mom thought that was very funny and agreed with me.
The only distinguishing things were that it was a little orange and it did not look completely like a cartoon.

There is this cardinal that comes knocks on our windows, his favorite being the one in Mom’s room or maybe the ones in the garage door.
He is really quite a pretty bird, very bright red, that at the same time is dark too, with the few black markings common to his kind, his little black eyes sparkle with life and his bright beak is a color I can’t quite describe, but it's sort of yellowish orangish.
Last year he and his girl friend made their nest in the rose bush outside my window, but there are two odd things about that though, the first being that he never once flew into my window and the other being that the cats always sleep under the bush.
I have not named him. To me it seems that he already has one and I have yet to learn it.

Here is a poem that I wrote a little over a year ago,

With the wings of my imagination
I fly,
With the eye of my imagination
I see,
With the ears of my imagination
I hear,
With the hands of my imagination
I touch,
With the feet of my imagination
I run,
With the heart of my imagination
I feel,
And with my imagination
I am.

We're raising venison this year.  This picture was taken in July - they've raided the garden several times this summer.  The produce is gone, but the deer are still here.  I see them every morning when I run. They are getting used to me and don't always run away when I pass by.

Hello everyone,
I am Naomi

I, as you know, play Celtic music,
You also probably know that I take classical violin lessons,
my violin teacher is Mr. Dortch.
My fiddle teacher is, well ... I don't exactly have one,
but a friend of ours is giving Sisters and me some fiddling tips.
