It sure has gotten cold here (like, 61F!). And rainy, too. I wish it would snow instead of rain.
The karate tournament was last Saturday, and I got FIRST PLACE IN SPARRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to beat Naomi to get it. Needless to say, I'm rather proud. :)

Hello everyone! The last couple of days the weather has been just gorgeous, but now it is raining. And on a Saturday! Our cat thinks it's the most horrible thing in the world. But I say at least we don't have to water the garden, but then again the cat probably doesn't care about that.

It's already the last day of August! (Where has the summer gone?) Make sure to come listen to us tonight--we're going to have a blast! Hope to see everyone there!

Wow, it's been a long time! I've been pretty busy with Camp in Canada, tons of gigs and, just recently, school starting again. I'm soooooooo excited about tomorrow night! We'll be playing in Huntsville's Concerts in the Park at Big Spring Park. I can't wait!

How are you all doing? I'm fine.
Happy Epiphany!!!!
Today is the last day of Christmas, and the Wise Men have finally arrived!
Today's poem is (Drum roll, please)...
My Little Hill
When I was on my little hill
I looked out and saw a mill.
I looked at that mill all day long,
And listened to the miller sing his song.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy 2009!!!!!!!!!
Last night we went to see Eileen Ivers, and she was sooooooooooooo good(but then again, when isn't she?)!!! It was lots of fun.
Once again:
Happy New Year!

Guess what? Tomorrow it will be a whole new year! I can hardly believe it! I hope everyone is having a merry Christmas.
The other day I found a whole lot of poems I wrote, so I'm going to start putting up poems erratically (Mwa Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!).
Here's one for today:
Professor Snoop
Professor Snoop
He made some soup
And forced all his children
To eat it.
Professor Snoop
He made some soup
But of course
All of his children hated it.

Sorry it's been so long since I last updated.
We're having a celtic jam today. It's going to be so much fun!
Well, last time I said I'd give you the answer to the riddle, so here it is:
The Shadow
I guess that's about all.

Tonight we have a karate class. I hope we get to do the new kata we are learning! I plan on doing it for the next tournament. We passed black belt testing! We won't get our belts until July at Summer Camp, but I guess I can wait a little longer.
Summer has been really hot this year, and I'm glad we're going up north in August. It should be at least a little cooler there.
How would you guys (or girls) like a riddle? I'll write it here, then next time I update I'll write the answer.
The part of the bird
That's not in the sky,
That swims in the water,
Yet always stays dry.
What is it?

Last Monday we got new orchestra music. It is insanely hard! And to think, I once thought that 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' was hard!
We are playing 'The Marriage of Figaro', the 'Carmen Suite', and the 'Fiocco Allegro'. I'm playing the 'Fiocco Allegro' for AMTA (Alabama Music Teachers' Association), so I already mostly know it.

Has anyone solved the puzzle yet? Even if no one ever does, I'm still not going to tell you! You have to figure it out for yourself. (you can email me and I'll tell you if you're correct)
Last Saturday I got a certificate and a pin for memorizing Rudyard Kipling's poem 'If'. They are really cool.
Here is the poem.
IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
~Rudyard Kipling
It's a really long poem. It took me almost a week to memorize the whole thing!
Have a nice day!

It did freeze- actually it snowed- but our flowers survived.
I love the math I'm doing now. It's complicated, but it makes sense.
I have a brain teaser for you folks. See if you can find the next symbol in this sequence:
I I I I I I I V V V
Have fun!

Tonight is the dress-dress rehersal for our winter orchestra consert which is on March 2nd. Next week is the dress rehersal.
I hope that it won't freeze again because our flowers are blooming and our blueberries are budding.

We had a lot of fun at Winter Workout. We threw our sia at haybales, tried to throw our bo into hoola-hoops (I don't think anyone succeeded), and smashed apples with our nunchucks.
This passed Monday at orchestra Mr. Lee had us all sit in different seats and I sat in the flute section. Then he had us strings reverse order so that the consert Mistress was in the last chair and the last chair was in the first chair. I only went up one chair because I'm seated about the middle.

I hope that it will be as nice today as it was yesterday afternoon before it started raining. I liked the 60 degree weather and the wind, not the humidity.
Maybe if I get all my schoolwork done early and it warms up a bit I will get to play outside for a little while.
--------------------------
1/29/08
We have a really silly cat. She fell asleep in Rebekah's arms! It was really funny.
Our karate Winter Workout is coming up soon and I'm pretty excited about it. I just hope that it's not too cold because we will be working out on the beach!

1/28/08
I'm really looking forward to orchestra tonight. I've been practicing my music really hard.
Mom gave me some new Celtic music. It's a lot of fun.
I guess that's all for now.

1/24/08
I looked up some things for Black Belt testing and I figured out that I have to know 20 katas (forms) and I only still need to learn 1/10 of them.
We just got some new aluminum sias, even though the Black Belts at karate are going to chastise us for it. They say that wimps use aluminum sia but we're going to show them!
--------------------------
1/23/08
Last night we did double karate-class so today I'm rather tired, but it was worth it. We will be testing for our Black-Belts soon, so we need to get in all the classes we can. I think I'm just about ready; I just need to learn a few katas and brush up on my terminology.

I was writing some letters to people, and as I was writting them I noticed that it snowed on the same day as it flurried last month, and I thought that that was neat. Who knows, maybe next month on the 16th we'll get a blizzard, though I'm not holding my breath.

Hey, guys!
This morning there were at least 20 birds in our yard, and none of our cats tried to catch them! One cat jumped up on the fence, but she didn't chase any, so it didn't count.
Other than that not much has happened.
-------------------------

I can't believe it snowed! Tabitha and I went out last night and built a snowman, and he was even a practical size!
Tabitha made a HUGE snow-ball. It was so big that we could barely roll it, let alone pick it up!
I built a small snow-fort, we didn't have enough snow to make it very big, and it didn't have a roof.

Hi again! I hope everyone's doing great!
Yesterday we went to the Gap, and I tried on at least 5 pair of jeans! We went to the Gap because one time we played at Publix and we were paid in Gap gift-cards. We only went over our limit by 89 cents! Can't get much closer than that.
I've had a lot of fun this school semester. Karate's fun, orchestra's fun and academics are fun.
I'm writing a book. It's called 'The IceClans', and it's almost 20 pages long! I'm pretty excited about it.

I totally enjoy orchestra- it is so much fun! It started last Monday, and I was so happy because I got to see all of my friends.
I've been reading this series of books called "Guardians of Ga'Hoole", and they are really good. They were written by Kathryn Lasky.

You-tube video of Vivaldi's Concerto in A minor, 1st movement. Hannah played it at her Honor's Recital. The sound quality isn't great - but that's the video camera's fault - not Hannah's.
